Past Traveler Feedback
Self-Guided Ring of Kerry Cycle Ireland Walk Hike Bike (IWHB) arranged a wonderful cycling holiday for me, my father and two friends. The cycling routes around the Ring of Kerry minimized travel on busy roads. All the lodgings were at B&Bs or small hotels with friendly staff and excellent breakfast. They provided detailed cue sheets and a GPS app to provide turn by turn instructions. Navigating through the Irish countryside was easy. MICHAEL Q
Self-Guided Beara Way Cycle A group of 8 friends cycled the Beara Peninsula during the first week of Sept. Our trip was very professionally organised by Walkhikebike. I was very pleased with the level of service provided. Maurice and Francis always responded to my many queries in timely fashion mostly via email. They provided us with a bespoke itinerary which suited the ability of the group; and while it was a challenging cycle, it was very beautiful and there were not too many cars on the route. Maurice provided me with wonderful suggestions about where to eat for both lunch and dinner. The accommodation was excellent, all luggage transfers went smoothly and great care was taken on the last day when our bikes were transported from Castletownbere to Killarney. Maurice also met up with us in person before we embarked on our cycle and gave us all the time we needed. I could not recommend this company highly enough and I know I represent my group when I write this. It was excellent value! MARTINA C
Having watched many travelers flash through Ireland, founder Linda Woods wanted to provide a more slow-paced, immersive approach to experiencing the country. “My aim was to slow people down so that they could really sink their feet into the soul of the country, meet the locals and discover what makes Ireland and the Irish tick.”
Whether you're looking to walk, hike or bike, or a combination, our team of local travel specialists and guides are here to ensure that you have a most delightful and memorable trip to Ireland.

Ireland cycling specialist to help with planning
I seldom enlist help from companies to plan my trips. However, I found myself with too little time to arrange our trip to Ireland, so reached out to three recommended tour groups for help. Ireland Walk Hike Bike responded almost immediately and quickly understood our needs and desires. Their attention never wavered and they answered my questions knowledgeably and graciously. The arrangements made were flawless, I’m still in awe. When we had to make last minute changes, they took care of them. The staff was professional, thoughtful, caring and accurate. They provided accommodations, a rental car (with appropriate insurance), off-line mapping for the drive and hikes, excellent restaurant recommendations, historical and natural context to our travels; truly full service. And the cost was reasonable with no up charges for any rearrangements I required. I certainly would recommend them to travellers for a trip to Ireland. In this case, we couldn’t have done our trip without them! WENDY W

8-Day Self-Guided Beara Way Cycle
DURATION 7 nights, 6 days cycle
Revel in the unspoiled beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way while taking in the stunning scenery of West Cork. The Beara Peninsula offers spectacular panoramas dominated by mountains and sea. Few tourists reach this peninsula, making it a treasured destination for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a remote and relatively untouched landscape. Roads into the Beara mountains are scarce and impressive feats of engineering, such as dramatic Healy Pass, known for its series of hairpin turns. This adds to the charm (and challenge) of Beara, as well as a largely “tour bus free” area. On this adventure, pass through some of Ireland’s most charming coastal communities. Picturesque villages such as Eyeries and Allihies are renowned for their rows of brightly contrasting homes featuring every shade of the rainbow, welcoming visitors in a most colourful way.

Is this the cycling tour for you?
The Ring of Kerry cycle is best for novices, yet still physically challenging enough for moderate cyclists.
This route follows quiet country roads, so encounters less road traffic than the main Ring of Kerry driving route.
The towns and villages along the way are a little busier than those along the Beara Way.
Starts and finishes in the famous town of Killarney, which is accessible from all major international airports in Ireland.
Greatest ascent in a day: 679 m (2228 ft)
Total distance covered: 275.5 km / 171 mi
Self-Guided Ring of Kerry Cycle We did an 8 day self-guided Kerry hike and bike tour. It was an amazing adventure that we will remember for a lifetime! Francis and Petrina were wonderful and very helpful from start to finish. It was our first time to Ireland and I couldn't imagine experiencing it in any other way. Everything was mapped out and every detail taken care of. All we had to do was enjoy. Hope to come back soon and experience another part of the country with IWHB. Fantastic, thank you! MELANIE B
Is this the cycling tour for you?
The Beara Way is more challenging than the Ring of Kerry and best for more experienced cyclists.
This route offers a mix of coastal and inland cycling.
The Beara Way is relatively unexplored and less known to tourists than the Ring of Kerry. The towns and villages are less busy; so, overall, you encounter fewer people.
The natural scenery is more rugged with wild land and seascapes.
